Imagine being trapped in a lift with the shrieking mad homeless women who hangs around outside BHS and a giant swarm of angry high-pitched wasps. That's what watching Big Brother with Nikki in it felt like to us. But not any more.
Because on Friday, amidst frantic paranoid burblings of "This is a mistake" and "You're going to Australia," Nikki was finally deemed to be the most disliked Big Brother housemate by the public, and sent on her merry way. 37% of you voted for Nikki to be removed from the Big Brother house and, if we see any of you around, we'll buy you a drink for it. Now we just have to keep our heads down for the obligatory week of doing rubbish Big Brother's Little Brother and all kinds of awful, mostly-naked Nuts photoshoots and our lives will be blissfully Nikki free forever.
But now that Nikki has been evicted from the Big Brother house, who's going to win? Here's the first part of our Big Brother betting odds to win, for Susie, Jayne, Michael and Richard, with betting odds coming from PaddyPower.com…
Susie – It's taken a while, but Susie is starting to reveal that there's more to her than floating around making tea and looking down her nose at the other Big Brother housemates. Unfortunately for her, though, Susie's new personality is even more grating than her old one. Shouting at people about rats, shouting at Jayne for being a "plonker," rationing all the Big Brother food like a Nazi and telling everyone that she sprays her vagina with perfume isn't the best way to turn around your popularity. Unless you're from West Malling, of course. We hear they're all a bit weird there. Current Big Brother betting odds – 100/1
Jayne – Jayne has become such a prolific Big Brother rulebreaker that not only did she indirectly get Nikki evicted, but she's the reason why the Big Brother housemates have to survive on basic food rations and cold water and had to sit – and fail – an exam about the Big Brother rules. Apart from that, Jayne has continued to take turns between being even less charming than Alan Sugar at a rave with a hangover and being stunningly wrong about every single opinion she has ever had. It'll be hard to see if she'll be able to top thinking that Spiral was a spy because the Big Brother carpet was a bit spirally, but she'll have to be quick to do it – surely the Big Brother housemates will all be gunning for her this week. Michael - If there's one thing we hate, it's a wacky fucking student. And Michael – Mensa membership or not – couldn't be more self-consciously wacky if he started wearing one of those spinny bowtie things and quoting Little Britain to everyone. Michael is a man so pathetically dreary that he seems to think that bringing a manky stuffed cat into the Big Brother house is a handy way of diverting people's attention from his crashing lack of any kind of personality. In retrospect, perhaps Michael should have been evicted from Big Brother on Friday instead of Nikki. No, what are we saying? He's not that bad. Nobody is that bad. Except Jayne, naturally. Richard – As insufferably smug as Richard has been during Big Brother, we're actually starting to enjoy the David Brent-ish way that he tries to talk about things that he thinks would win him support from the outside. Telling everyone that homeless people are generally happier than people with nice warm houses was one, putting 2046 as his favourite film on the Big Brother website was another, as was telling Mikey that he lets rats run free around his house. The majority of Big Brother housemates are likely to nominate Richard for eviction this week, but he's managed to survive a bunch of evictions so far.
