Big Brother Betting Odds: Lesley Out, Seany To Win?

Big Brother betting odds Charley Leslie Shabnam Seany NickyWell well, that was quite the Big Brother weekend. Not only were we treated to the arrival of two new painfully wacky Big Brother housemates to shake things up with their innate gayness, but perpetually bewildered 60-year-old Lesley left too.

Lesley's Big Brother exit was unusual for this series of Big Brother, in that it didn't consist of one shouted racial slur followed by a 3am Big Brother boot-out. Instead Lesley's exit was slightly dignified, preceded by a rambling, sub-Royal stroll around the house where Lesley dispensed tearful, yet somewhat useless, advice to all of her fellow housemates. Lesley's presence will be missed in the Big Brother house, which now has to face up to 12 whole weeks without a confused old woman shrieking demands for milk jugs all the sodding time.

But who's going to win Big Brother? Here's part one of this week's Big Brother betting odds to win – for Charley, Shabnam, Seany and Nicky – with betting odds from Paddy Power

Charley – It says a lot for the staggering unpopularity of Charley that, in the week where she was the target of a racial slur, the angry Big Brother eviction night mob all took to chanting "Charley out!" at every opportunity they got. It's obvious why, really – any shred of sincere sympathy that the Big Brother audience had for Charley after Emily dropped the N-word into conversation vanished the instant that Charley started bragging about how famous it was probably going to make her. When Shilpa Shetty got caught up in a Big Brother racism row she became a superstar – frankly we're going to find the three seconds of Big Brother's Little Brother fame that Charley gets after being evicted about as pleasant as ramming frozen poo under our fingernails, and it doesn't look like we're the only ones. Current Big Brother betting odds – 50/1

Shabnam – Good old bloody Shabnam, the only woman in the world who doesn't understand that an individual's entrance into the Big Brother house isn't made easier when a scary-eyed nutter hurls herself towards them to explain why she isn't wearing any make-up. But, and we're aware how controversial this is, we might be starting to warm to Shabnam a little bit. While all the Big Brother housemates around her slowly turn into an evil swarm of angry bitchers, Shabnam has been busy floating around in her own little bubble, happily accepting whatever Big Brother throws at her. So maybe Shabnam is showing a little bit of potential, but that still doesn't mean we're any keener to spend even a single moment in her company. Current Big Brother betting odds – 33/1

Seany – After eight seasons of Big Brother, we thought that we'd be able to identify most of the stereotypes that Big Brother likes to use, but Seany seems to be something of a curveball – a curly. ginger-haired energetic Irishman with a fondness for sweatbands, an unhealthy obsession with Michael Jackson, a hatred for the elderly and an inexplicable fondness for wearing vinyl necklaces around his neck. Sounds endearingly kooky enough for you? It gets better – Seany is also gay. So why are Seany's Big Brother betting odds so useless? Well, it might have something to do with Seany's sexuality – historically gay Big Brother housemates have done well when they've refused to discuss gay sex, but Seany's Big Brother entry tape saw him declare his love of anonymous sex with men. Men with erections. And that's as good as a suicide not as far as the Big Brother audience goes. Current Big Brother betting odds – 20/1

Nicky – Remember Dean from one of the early Big Brother seasons? Probably not – his shtick was being nice, slightly dull and sensible in the face of any confrontation. And it did Dean well – he got one of history's worst World Cup songs out of appearing Big Brother – although he was never going to make any headlines. Right now Nicky seems to be the female equivalent of Dean. She's yet to do anything truly interesting in the Big Brother house – the highlight may have been noticing that someone shat on the floor – but she was just about the only Big Brother housemate to react to last week's racism row sensibly and without any thought of how she'd be perceived. Nicky will last a while in the Big Brother house – not because people like her, but because she's a bit too bland to dislike. Current Big Brother betting odds – 20/1
