So tonight is the big night; the night when a handful of Big Brother housemates are handed the responsibility of evicting one of their own, provided they can understand what they're being asked to do – a long shot, we know.

As Big Brother gurus, Ziggy, Tracey and Sam and Amanda are exempt from the public vote, but tonight they'll be told the names of the two Big Brother housemates with the most votes and will have to evict one of them. For the Big Brother gurus this means a lot of decisions and a lot of guilt, but for you it means money – because with six Big Brother housemates who can potentially be evicted, it means that the Big Brother betting odds are longer than they have been for a long time. Carole – Yes yes, Carole's unemployed and very poor and all the Big Brother housemates are very grateful for the way that she always cooks them food and all but, lordy, Carole's really running away with the 'Big Brother annoying tosser' title this week isn't she? Having a full-scale confrontation with Gerry, Ziggy and Liam over cheese and teabags during a week where she hasn't been spared from Big Brother eviction nominations by the goodness of everyone else is a risky move. And that goes double now that the truly objectionable Big Brother housemates have been evicted. So will Carole get evicted from the Big Brother house tonight? Gerry – God knows what's wrong with us, but we've started to actually like Gerry this week. Well, no, 'like' is strong word. We've stopped punching the TV until our knuckles bleed every time Gerry appears on Big Brother. We're not sure why, but Gerry's funny side has started to come through a little bit over the last few days – making jokes about the size of Liam's penis and Davina McCall's age, helping the other Big Brother housemates with their lectures – but that doesn't really hide the fact that Gerry is still unforgivably annoying. Of course, there's always the gay vote keeping Gerry in Big Brother, but surely gay people are just as capable of seeing what a tit Gerry can be too. But for this week, maybe the pity vote will keep Gerry safe. Current Big Brother betting odds – 5/2

Kara-Louise - If there's any single Big Brother housemate that we feel slightly bad about disliking then it's Kara-Louise. Kara-Louise isn't offensively loud or wilfully awkward or a great cause of upset inside the Big Brother house. Kara-Louise isn't so rampantly attention-seeking that people will throw missiles at her as she leaves the Big Brother house. But what Kara-Louise is, you see, is a twat. A full-blooded, self-regarding twat who lurches between emotional extremes like a giant bipolar prawn and has singularly failed to win even one Big Brother viewer over with her la-di-dah bleating. But that's Kara-Louise – she doesn't mean to be annoying but, bloody hell, that's exactly what she is. Current Big Brother betting odds – 1/2
