France_gall_eurovision_50_betting_oddsTomorrow is a momentous day. It is the day that Europe decides. It is the day that Europe decides which Eurovision song is the best Eurovision song in Eurovision history.

To mark the 50th anniversary of the Eurovision Song Contest, there will be a special celebration held tomorrow night in Copenhagen to find the best song that Eurovision has produced. And you can even bet on the result.

During our week-long look at the entries, the quality of songs have varied all over the place, from pure pop like Voltare and Waterloo to dreadful crap like Johnny Logan and Celine Dion. But we still have a few songs left to look at today.

Here’s our final batch of Eurovision 50 betting odds, with the usual help from Betfair.com

Sertab Erener: Every Way That I Can – Eurovision winner in 2003.
2003 is The Dark Year of Eurovision. It was the year when Jemini fucked
up their song, got nil points for the UK and blamed it on everything
from the war in Iraq to their dodgy monitors, even though it was very
obvious that neither of them could sing for shit. Anyway, it was also
the year that t.A.T.u threw a big strop and Sertab Erener, the Turkish
superstar, won the contest possibly because her song contained the ridiculous
lyric "You make me wanna huhuh/Make me wanna huhuhuh." Current odds -
23/1

France Gall – Poupee De Cire, Poupee De Son – Eurovision winner in
1965
. Without a doubt, this is the song that should win the
competition. It won’t, but it should. Poupee De Cire, Poupee De Son was
written by Serge Gainsbourg – a genius – and was all about how kids who
sing love songs don’t understand what they’re singing about. And he got
France Gall – a kid – to sing it. Serge and France went
on to perform the theme tune to Dents De Lait, Dents De Loup, and that’s like the best song
ever or something. Current odds – 41/1

Mocedades – Eres Tu – Eurovision entry in 1973. Mocedades didn’t
manage to win the 1973 Eurovision Song Contest – they were beaten by a
woman from Luxembourg who couldn’t stop crying – but they did do better
than Cliff Richard, who came third. We know nothing about Mocedas,
except that Eres Tu went top ten in America, and that’s
probably why they’re outsiders. Current odds – 69/1

No more Eurovision odds from us – the contest is on Saturday – but in the meantime check out
the General Special Bets section of Betfair.com to see the very
latest Eurovision 50 betting odds for all the
contestants. And you’ll even get free stuff when you join up – look…
