Ben Affleck’s Hilarious Scrotum

Anyone remember when Ben Affleck (DVDs) still had a career? When he could still strut out in front of the camera, mumble a few lines and actually drag in some audience members? Seems like a long time ago, doesn’t it?

While his one-time co-star Matt Damon (DVDs) has claimed the enjoyable Bourne franchise as his own, these past few years have seen Affleck make that traditional Hollywood transition: from starring in wildly-popular crap to starring in utterly unseen crap. From Armageddon to Gigli - what a development.

One of Affleck’s recent low points was 2004’s Jersey Girl, which also represented the nadir of director Kevin Smith (DVDs), who went from making guilty-pleasure goofball comedies to churning out the sort of sentimental drivel that wouldn’t look out of place on a supermarket greetings card.

Jersey Girl, infact, is notable for only two things. Number one was that it offered - for the first time outside the realms of sweet, sweet fantasy - the chance to see Jennifer Lopez pop her clogs.

Number two is the on-set antics of Mr. Affleck himself. It has been revealed today that… oh, to hell with it. Let’s let tubby mirthmeister Kevin Smith explain it himself.

"I’d be sitting in the director’s chair and I’d be watching a playback," Smith reminisced, "and he’d stand behind me. Every once in a while I’d feel something on my neck."

"I’d be like, ‘What the fuck was that?’ And I’d turn around and he’d have his scrotum out and resting on my neck I was like, ‘What the fuck is wrong with you, dude?’"

Affleck reportedly likes to refer to the stunt as the "fruit basket". Rumours that Russell Crowe (DVDs) tried the same stunt on the set of A Beautiful Mind are entirely made up. But that film was a big lot of scrotum anyway, so he needn’t have bothered anyway.

"I was like, ‘What if it got out in the press that that’s the kind of thing you do?’" Smith explained of his reaction, to which Affleck swiftly responded "No one would ever fucking believe you, sir!"
