Beatles_biographyIt seems that after some 40 plus years of limelight and scrutiny, The Beatles are once again booked.

Author Bob Spitz has added to the already formidable mountain of Beatles literature with a hefty 856 page tome. Much of the content is said to be old hat, already known to rabid Beatles fans everywhere, but some new details may make it a worthwhile buy.

There’s a brand new Beatles (CDs) book entitled The Beatles: The Biography,
and it adds a few more fun chunks of detail to the much studied mix.
For example: the Beatles’s early days are more fleshed out. Spitz is said to have
included content from one Dot Rhone, a woman to whom Paul was once
engaged. The engagement ended when Rhone miscarried. Don’t get too
excited people, that’s the only example we have.

As long as we’re buying Beatles, let’s pay attention to each of their strengths and weaknesses.

Paul’s strengths are that he vacuums, does dishes, and remembers to
turn the car blinker off pretty quick after completing a left hand
turn. Ringo’s chief strength is lawn care. Give him a pot of petunias
and he’ll garden relentlessly. He’s also a decent hedge trimmer. One
can’t be too careful when buying him, though, as those copper slave
collars give him a weird purple neck rash.

As for George and John, right now, and I mean exactly right now, they
don’t really have any strengths, unless you need someone to permanently
gaze skyward. If that’s what you’re looking for, I’d say George would
be your best bet, as John’s skull has got to be completely detached
from it’s spine by now. Nothing’s keeping that thing from getting all
topsy turvey. That sucker would really just rock all over the place.

There’s probably a "stinks like walrus" joke in here somewhere, but we here at hecklerspray have a weird respect for the dead.
