Another Day, Another Band In Plane Scare
Then buzz it up

Brace yourselves for a hecklerspray apology: last week, we accused Bon Jovi of being past it. But we were wrong, plenty of bands obviously still want to follow in their footsteps. Bands like Live.
Because, just as awful arena-rockers Bon Jovi almost bit the dust as their plane skidded off a Canadian runway last week, the members of semi-forgotten mid-nineties whinge band Live almost had a plane crash of their very own on Sunday afternoon as their plane’s cabin.
Now, our memories of Live (CDs) aren’t exactly clear but - seeing as the
band has gone from having a number one album to supporting Nickelback
in just over a decade, we’d go so far as to guess that most people
don’t really remember who they are. But at least by being in a shonky
plane that filled up with smoke, Live have managed to get one last grab
at fame.
Live’s flight from Chicago to Harrisburg, Pa, returned to Chicago
O’Hare airport within 40 minutes of take-off to make an emergency landing after there were reports
of smoke in the plane’s cabin. The plane landed safely, not that
witless Chad Taylor - the lead guitarist in Live - had a clue about
anything. He told the Patriot-News of Harrisburg:
"No one knew anything."
Oh well, we’d rather have bands like Live copy Bon Jovi by being in near-miss plane accidents than copy Bon Jovi by making rubbish records about sleeping when they’re dead and going down in a blaze of glory and stuff.
