Angelina Jolie might be hiding away in Namibia awaiting the birth of The Most Beautiful Child Ever To Walk The Earth, but that hasn't stopped her from indulging in her favourite hobby.
No, not making films that you expect to be better than they actually are, the other hobby. You know – solving all the problems of the world with a swish of her giant lips. For Angelina Jolie wants to raise money to send 100 million children from poor countries to school.
Despite recently dobbing in a bunch of photographers to the Namibian Prime Minister for not leaving her alone, Angelina Jolie has spent the last few days shamelessly courting the press in order to heal the world and make it a better place for you and for me and the entire human race.
Because lately, Angelina Jolie has changed from the sniffy globetrotting celebrity Angelina Jolie to the lovely big humanitarian Angelina Jolie. And if that means allowing photographers to take a picture of her giant baby bump while she has a worthy conference call with Gordon Brown about poverty in front of them, so be it.
So while Angelina Jolie waits to drop in Namibia, that's exactly what she's been doing. She's been talking up the Global Campaign for Education, a way of getting 100 million kids from the world's poorest countries a chance to go to school. During the conference call, Angelina said:
"I'm just thrilled to have this opportunity to help bring this to the forefront of peoples' minds this week… It is a rare occasion that I am really thanking the press."
The call came as Gordon Brown announced that Britain would pile in $15 billion over 10 years to help train teachers and build and schools in poverty-stricken countries. A worthy cause indeed for Angelina Jolie, although we can't shake the feeling that in the schools Jolie raises cash to build, the curriculum will feature classes like Sky Captain And The World Of Tomorrow: A Brave Single-Minded Artistic Vision And Not A Useless Bag Of Arse. And do you think that Angelina Jolie discussed her new baby during the call? Of course not, but she did say:
"It has been proven that a basic primary education can completely change the lives of people around the world."
Which is kind of the same. What with Brad Pitt rebuilding New Orleans and now Angelina trying to educate the world, it seems as if the couple want to fix everything that's wrong with the world. And that's great, because the plughole in our bath keeps getting blocked up. Either Brad or Angelina can come and fix it, we're not too fussed.

Gee Heritage, what is with all that pessimism! What good causes have you done lately? What Angelina and Brad are doing is hard work, you should try it sometime.
