Kate Moss is rumoured to be cast in her first Hollywood film role as a lesbian, in the new flick by awards hoover Ang Lee.
Apparently, the acclaimed Hollywood director of Brokeback Mountain has decided to go from gay to lesbian, as he is rumoured to be casting Kate Moss in his upcoming film about 60s soul singer Dusty Springfield. Moss is up for the role to be the first lover of the singer.
If all goes well, Charlize Theron (DVDs) – a veteran of lesbian roles –
will be cast as Dusty Springfield in the rumoured upcoming biopic by Ang Lee. The story will take place starting at the
birth of Springfield and follow all the way through until her death
in 1999. A source is quoted as saying:
"Kate’s the ideal choice to play the love
of Dusty’s early life. She’s beautiful, aloof and she epitomises
swinging London. There’ll probably be sexual scenes but as Ang is behind the camera they will be very tastefully done. Kate’s character breaks Dusty’s heart and sparks off the chain of
tumultuous relationships that dogged her throughout her life."
This sounds like a film made in heaven. Ang Lee, the most Oscarworthy director around at the moment, directing Oscarworthy actress Charlize Theron in a movie that’s a bit homosexual and also about a dead singer. Has there ever been a film that ticks more Oscar boxes? And anyway, it’s not as if Kate Moss needs any practise at being a lesbian, is it?
