Amy Winehouse drugs overdose hospital stomach pumpIt's probably fair to start referring to Amy Winehouse exclusively as 'troubled Amy Winehouse' now, since suspected drug overdoses that result in collapses, adrenaline shots and pumped stomachs tend to ask for it a bit.

According to reports Amy Winehouse overdosed on drugs on Tuesday night - leading to a spell in University College Hospital, the aforementioned stomach pump and yet another cancelled concert. While a suspected drug overdose will be a huge worry for Amy Winehouse's family, friends and fans, we'd imagine that Amy Winehouse herself will be able to look on the bright side - for one her alarmingly skinny frame meant the doctors didn't have that much to actually pump, plus the incident may have inspired her next global mega-hit. After all, you'd buy a song with the chorus "They tried to pump my stomach/ I said 'Gkgkgkahhh blurh hwughh gkahhahgh' and then vomited on a nurse" wouldn't you?

Amy Winehouse just can't stay out of the news this week - first it emerged that she's apparently designing a denim line for a fashion house that doesn't realise that most people would rather roll around in their own dirty protests than dress like Amy Winehouse, then she was nominated for a bunch of MTV Video Music Awards and now she's collapsed due a suspected drug overdose and has had to get her stomach pumped in hospital. And she did that mid-week - if she keeps upping the bar like this, expect an Amy Winehouse Sets Herself On Fire And Human Cannonballs Herself To The Moon headline tomorrow.

But anyway, this drugs overdose. It actually seems like the MTV Video awards might have sparked something off, because Amy Winehouse was admitted to University College Hospital hours after hearing about her nominations. Whether Amy Winehouse allegedly overdosed out of celebration at the recognition or through despair that she'd never beat Fergie out of the Black Eyed Peas in the Best Female category is yet unknown. What is known, however, is all this stuff the Telegraph is about to tell you:

Amy Winehouse, the turbulent diva of British pop, has been discharged from hospital after collapsing from a suspected drugs overdose. The wayward Winehouse, 23, was given an adrenaline shot and had her stomach pumped at London's University College Hospital on Tuesday. She was admitted in the early hours of the morning shortly after being nominated in three categories at the MTV Video Music Awards. A spokesman for Island Records said: "Amy Winehouse was admitted to UCLH this morning suffering from severe exhaustion."

Of course, Amy Winehouse suffering from a drug overdose will have widespread repercussions for a lot of people. Amy Winehouse will need to recuperate in the arms of her unsuitable husband and might even have to lay off the woman-punching for a while until she's better - but professionally, the hospital stay means that Amy Winehouse had to cancel yet another concert, this time a festival in Oslo. While the festival organisers seem to be a bit narked at Amy's shoddy appointment-keeping, in a recent interview Winehouse revealed why she skips so many shows:

"I know it's last-minute and a bit irresponsible. But I'm a perfectionist and would rather reschedule a show than do it half-heartedly."

Which explains why this is such a bonanza of professional showmanship, doesn't it?

Wow! That’s some of the crappiest performance I’ve seen.
Maybe she OD’ed after watching herself on this video.
    That would be reasonable.

Well yes, it did look a little poor or perhaps even “the crappiest performance I’ve seen”

But who’s the crappier Amy or the fools who gave her thunderous applause?

I say blame the audience, if they didn’t encourage this sort of thing most divas wouldn’t get past High School performances.

Well done kick the girl whilst she’s down the media build people up just to watch them fall. Amy is known for being troubled but she is also a fantastic song writer and live act. This video was one of the worst shows I have heard her sing but did you watch the hundreds of amazing shows she gives? Please listen to Fergie any live gig and she sounds awful and she didn’t even write her monotonous no talent songs. Amy’s songs have feeling her voice is stunning she won the Ivor I feel bad that she is going through so much just like any other descent human being would instead the media carries on with this constant heckling. Does one of our young stars need to commit suicide before the media gets the message to back the hell off?

  7. Adam Gade Says:

Yes, many young “stars” need to do just that.

Nevermind that last thought, then Hecklerspray wouldn’t have anyone to write about. But she acts and looks like a wasted Vegas hooker hitting on a wall.
