I cannot for the life of me understand why they would remake such an old series. For the nostalgia sake of people 40+? We are not the demographic they want to reach.

It makes no sense.

Why not just write a NEW series. With NEW ideas.

A Remake?

I wonder if they will remake Doctor Who (ironic).

i’ve never written anything on a chat page but i randomly wanted to check out the new v trailer and realized that there are people out in the world that actually care enough to comment about a stupid show! of course its going to be terrible! are you really looking for quality in a show about aliens who eat rodents!? idiots! all i want to know is will there be alien/lizard sex scenes? can the students of nerd university that comment on this page let me know about that? mouse sandwich.. mmmm…..

i will say however i cringed at the remake of the series for battlestar galactica until I actualy watched it, I remember that having alot of angry fans rabid. so perhaps thier is a chance, Im also old enough to remember the hoards of anti star trek the next generation websites with angry Startrek fans before that show came out (lasting 9 seasons if i remember correctly). so who can say. I do hope they put the original military dallas style music in at some point, otherwise i fear tanking. Getting to the point i wont watch a series until it gets into season 3.

what star trek movie did you see? 20009 startrek was terrible (visualy ok,story/music horrid), i predict this series is going to tank as the original music is not present in any of the promos. Just like me groaning about batman begins (sorry loved burtons music batman 1 and semi 2 are it for me) when i hear batman fanboys sound off.
TV remakes much like the terrible Miami Vice movie (show had stellar music) and the tanking terminator franchise (for removing brad fidels soundtrack after t2) need to realize music continuity is everything. Most of the reason these reboots fail is they completely reboot, not recognizing music is an integral part of and 80% of a film/tv series and just as important as a character in it simply
making money off the title/character names.
At least lucas and spielberge have the good sense to keep music continuity with indy/starwars.Another example Mission impossible 1 wich was great and the rest tanked as they removed the mission impossible music. I used to cringe at actors being replaced in tv shows/movies now I cringe at studio heads throwing away and replacing music that made shows great.
V was highly underrated for its time and one of the first times a major network took scifi seriously. And can we bring back the original music from the first 4 startrek movies please (and brad fidels soundtrack to terminator) lol.
I predict it gets cancelled like terminator the series and picked back up by scifi channel lol.

okay, i get why. think about what (ABC’s) Abrams did for “Star Trek”… plus, every studio is looking to do a good remake with its own built-in cult audience these days.

and all the creepiness going on in world politics, right now? you’d almost think we have been invaded by carnivorous, two-faced lizards from another planet.

V Remade sounds good liked the original, They will need Michael Ironside he will make it better IRONSIDE FTW ,
Marc Singer replace him with Kevin Bacon, Leader should be one of the BRIDGES boys, Dianna Dichen Lachman, ….

That coment on the article about the only actor to make a name for himself is wrong. Michael Ironside has been in a TON of stuff for YEARS and Marc Singer didn’t do that badly himself.

Is Scraping the barrel a pipe smoking reference? Gun cleaning reference ? If so, If you want cool glass of water you have to di a little deeper in the well.
All results from a little harder work. V is in a gamers hands and with CGI it could be good as gold.

I own the entire V movie and miniseries on DVD. I don’t know about this remake. Every remake they’ve done of any old show so far SUCKS. I’m not looking forward to this. It will NOT be as good as the original. I agree with lilricky. I would rather see a continuation of the story also.
